Top 4 Electric BMX (Inspired) Bikes for 2020! [Complete List]

Electric bikes are becoming ever more popular in the US, with major offerings for electric road, mountain, beach cruiser, gravel bikes and more. There is one niche that is just starting to crawl though: electric BMX.

Here is the list of our top 4 BMX inspired electric bikes for 2020!

1. Billy ebike by Enki Cycles

The Billy by Enki is a 20" single-speed, rear hub-motor fat-tire electric bike. It has BMX bars and geometry and some interesting features including a belt-drive and in-frame battery. This bike had a successful KICKSTARTER campaign back in 2018 and is currently being sold through the Enki website.



Check out their marketing video above, where the rider jumps off a ledge, hits a stair set, rips a manual, and does a nice 180 burn-out. This bike easily earned our #1 BMX inspired spot.

2. MATE X: The coolest foldable eBike EVER

The MATE X looks like it took some inspiration from the Billy with a few upgrades depending on whether you're a purist or not. The MATE X is definitely more compact with fold-able bars and quick-release seat-post, it also adds a 7-speed gear for helping pedal at high speed.



This bike comes in both a 250W and 750W motor option and definitely seems capable, with a slightly lower price tag than the Billy.

3. Life EV eBMX Electric Bike

The Life eBMX is the only race style electric bike model. It has a hub-motor integrated into the rear mag and in-tube batteries which make it almost indistinguishable from a normal BMX bike. This bike has a smaller battery than the others on our list but also a much lower price tag.



Their videos show the bike at the track and the skatepark, two places we are not too sure electric BMX bikes belong. Either way this is a highly integrated electric bike that comes in at #3 of our list.

4. Juiced Scorpion

The Juiced Scorpion isn't really BMX style per se, but it does have 20" rims and borrows the 1970's Motobecane moped style that we love. These guys just had a very successful INDIEGOGO campaign so it seems like others are really loving this too.



You can see their rider having fun above with plenty of skids, wheelies, and even getting air off a little dirt mound. This bike rounds out our list at #4.
